Environmentalists sketched the first comments about the numerous environmental impacts associated with the civil construction between the 1960s and 1970s. This is the most polluting industry and responsible for the consumption up to 75% of the raw material produced on the planet. Also, during this period the evolution of the computerized systems took place along with the development of the first automation systems for buildings equipment, giving rise to the introduction of concept of the smart buildings, which, although contributing with the economic and environmental aspects, are not always sustainable. On the other hand, a sustainable building can´t always be directly classified also as a smart building. Although the term "smart buildings" appeared first, the "sustainable buildings" are better known and widespread, partly due to sustainability certifications for civil construction that were born about two decades ago. This work aims to study and analyze the requirements of the AQUA-HQE™ Certification of High Environmental Quality for Buildings under Construction (FUNDAÇÃO VANZOLINI), for sustainable buildings, identifying convergences and points of adequacy with the Label R2S - Ready 2 Services - Delivré par Certivéa (CERTIVÉA, 2019), for smart buildings. The results show the poor integration and synergy between the certifications, so this work has a proposal to contribute to the elaboration of a new integrated certification for smart and sustainable buildings.
