This descriptive and correlational doctoral research aims at investigating and comparing how students, who attend schools with part-time and integral education proposals, approach learning. It is understood that the integral education in the full-time school can be perceived as a new possibility of reorganization of the time and space to learn, demystifying the concept of the expansion of time only. Thus, it is argued that the integral education in full-time school can enhance a deeper learning approach. The research aims at answering the following questions: Does the integral education in full-time school enable students to approach learning in depth? Do full-time students approach learning differently from the part-time students? It is known that there are many variables that can intervene in the learning process, however, this research seeks to inspect the school context and verify the relation of this context with the students' perception of learning and whose specific objectives are: to know the pedagogical proposals of full-time schools and part-time schools; identify, compare and relate the type of learning approaches and the use of self-regulation learning strategies in both contexts and know the students' perception of their learning in both school proposals. The study participants were 205 students from the 3rd cycle of elementary school from two schools in Campinas, a full-time school and a part-time. Documentary analysis was used to produce the empirical materials; the application of Study Process Inventory (IPE) and Self-Regulation Learning Process Inventory (IPAA); classroom observation and in the school context; and interviews. The qualitative data analysis was performed from the content analysis and the quantitative data was used IBM-SPSS for Windows version 20.0 software. Thus, after the analysis of the instruments, it could be inferred that there were more approximations than distances from how students approach learning in both school models. Moreover, it was possible to realize that the students approach learning in a superficial and a deep way, without one form overcoming another; and regardless of the school proposal, whether full-time or part-time. The research justifies itself due to the need to evaluate the potential and the boundaries of time spent in school, in a way that it can subsidize public politics for the integral education in full-time school.
