Urbanika: A deselitização da arte e o papel do design

Abstract

O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso aborda, por meio dos ensinamentos aprendidos na graduação de Design Digital, o desenvolvimento do tema proposto: a Deselitização da Arte e o Papel do Design. Devido ao Centenário da Semana de Arte Moderna neste ano de 2022, é válida a reflexão sobre como o campo das artes é elitizado e ainda pouco acessível à população em geral. Se tornou um fato a tamanha dificuldade e falta de incentivos culturais, sociais e econômicos à produção de artistas independentes, além do escasso acesso a informações e estímulo ao consumo de arte no Brasil, para a população em geral. Também, existe o claro interesse das elites em deixar esses espaços ocupados por seus próprios artistas e apreciadores. Sendo assim, é relevante a discussão sobre a importância do incentivo à produção e consumo de arte, além da valorização de artistas independentes, e questionar onde o design poderia auxiliar na solução dessas questões. A pesquisa desenvolvida neste projeto contextualiza a história da arte e do design, analisando as relações sociais de ambos, por meio da realização de estudos teóricos referenciais. Há também, a estruturação de uma proposta de desenvolvimento projetual, a plataforma digital da Urbanika. Por fim, o projeto pretende apresentar propostas de soluções utilizando a metodologia do Design Thinking, para resolver os problemas discutidos ao longo da contextualização de toda pesquisa teórica, com o foco em proporcionar e gerar mais oportunidades para artistas, além de auxiliar no acesso a arte de maneira democrática e facilitada para todos.

The present end of course work addresses, through the teachings learned in the Digital Design graduation, the development of the proposed theme: the De-elitization of Art and the Role of Design. Due to the Centennial of the Week of Modern Art in this year of 2022, it is valid to reflect on how the field of arts is elitist and still not very accessible to the general population. It has become a fact the great difficulty and lack of cultural, social and economical incentives to the production of independent artists, besides the scarce access to information and stimulus to the consumption of art in Brazil, for the general population. There is also the clear interest of the elites in leaving these spaces occupied by their own artists and appreciators. Thus, it is relevant to discuss the importance of encouraging the production and consumption of art, as well as the appreciation of independent artists, and to question where design could help to solve these issues. The research developed in this project contextualizes the history of art and design, analyzing the social relations of both, by means of referential theoretical studies. There is also, the structuring of a project development proposal, Urbanika’s digital platform. Finally, the project intends to present proposals for solutions using the methodology of Design Thinking, to solve the problems discussed throughout the contextualization of all theoretical research, with a focus on providing and generating more opportunities for artists, and assisting in access to art in a democratic and facilitated way for all.
