A dessacralização e a fuga da beleza na pós-modernidade segundo Roger Scruton

Abstract

A presente monografia buscará reafirmar a importância da beleza para a sociedade contemporânea a partir do filosofo britânico Sir Roger Scruton (1944 – 2020), pensador de um corpo filosófico profundamente denso em estética, política, religião, ética etc. A obra que norteia este trabalho é Beleza, onde analisa a posição e os diversos aspectos da beleza no mundo, a estabelecendo como o grande paradigma da realidade, um princípio verdadeiro ladeado pelo bem e pela verdade. O objetivo deste trabalho é aprofundar o pensamento estético de um autor tão desconhecido no Brasil, apesar de muito influente em seu país, e em considerando a carência de beleza na sociedade do nosso tempo, a levar como antidoto para os povos e fazer da beleza o valor norteador das consciências, como algo maior que uma simples categoria filosófica, mas um princípio que importa.

This present monograph will seek to reaffirm the importance of beauty for contemporary society through the British philosopher Sir Roger Scruton (1944 – 2020), a thinker with a profoundly rich philosophical body of work encompassing aesthetics, politics, religion, ethics, and more. The work guiding this study is 'Beauty,' where Scruton analyzes the position and various aspects of beauty in the world, establishing it as the great paradigm of reality, a true principle flanked by goodness and truth. The aim of this work is to delve deeper into the aesthetic thought of an author relatively unknown in Brazil, despite being highly influential in his own country. Considering the lack of beauty in our society today, the goal is to take it as an antidote for the people and to make beauty the guiding value of consciousness, something greater than a mere philosophical category, but a principle that truly matters.
