Do contato face a
sindical.
TikTok. | pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | The worker's unions, which in contemporary Brazil amount to at least 11,000
institutions, are the main form of workers' organization in the clashes eventually fought
with the business sector, whether for salary adjustments or improvement of working
conditions. Depending on the training of their leaders, they have the potential to ramify
their influence into other dimensions of the social fabric, such as political parties,
electing representatives with influence over the country's destiny. Like other social
institutions, unions have always used communication tools to mobilize their bases.
From face-to-face contact recorded in the initial period, they advanced to mediated
communication and nowadays the entities that best assimilated the new technologies
are in the stage described as institutional mediatization. Of an interdisciplinary nature,
the study developed here, with the support of bibliographic research and semi structured interviews, sought to ascertain, describe and outline the stages of
mediatization of the trade union movement. The result points to three distinct moments,
which are born with the in-person distribution of pamphlets at factory doors and
culminate with the construction of identities, on the world wide web, which make
political action and the personal life of trade unionists indistinguishable. Some also
seek to become influencers on digital social networks, being present on platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, and even taking advantage of the dance trends that have become popular on TikTok. | pt_BR |
