A amizade em Epicuro e Aristóteles motivada pela utilidade: implicações éticas

Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo refletir sobre o conceito de amizade vinculado ao conceito de utilidade ensinado por Aristóteles e Epicuro. Tal empreendimento justificase por tratar de um tema de alta relevância para a compreensão das relações humanas no que tange à relação consigo mesmo, na estima de si; com o outro, no respeito; e com a comunidade, instituições ou sociedade mais justas em que se possa habitar. Em outras palavras, o conceito de amizade em Aristóteles e Epicuro implica a possibilidade de um mundo melhor e mais solidário. A principal questão explorada é: quais são as implicações éticas de uma visão de amizade baseada na utilidade de acordo com Epicuro e Aristóteles? Adotaremos uma abordagem metodológica fundamentada na revisão bibliográfica baseada no livro Fundamentos de Metodologia Científica de Eva Maria Lakatos.

This work aims to reflect on the concept of friendship linked to the concept of utility taught by Aristotle and Epicurus. Such an undertaking is justified because it deals with a topic of high relevance for understanding human relationships in terms of the relationship with oneself, in self-esteem; with others, with respect; and with the fairest community, institutions or society in which one can live. In other words, the concept of friendship in Aristotle and Epicurus implies the possibility of a better and more supportive world. The main question explored is: what are the ethical implications of a view of friendship based on utility according to Epicurus and Aristotle? We will adopt a methodological approach based on a bibliographical review based on the book Fundamentals of Scientific Methodology by Eva Maria Lakatos.
