This research project is a phenomenological study about the reception of Ignatian spirituality based on women’s works in the 19th century, among which Cândida Maria de Jesus stands out. The research aims at recovering the memory and the work of Candida Maria de Jesus in the field of education, starting from the reception of the Ignatian spirituality. Through the systematization of the spiritual elements found, it shows an original contribution of a spiritual and educational character in the Christian and integral formation of the human being for constructing a more humane, more just and more solidary society. The methodology of this research is bibliographical, especially in the contextualization and critical analysis of the theme to be studied regarding the condition of women in the 19th century, as well as documental, which is the main methodological reference, i.e., we will make a phenomenological approach to the writings of Candida Maria de Jesus through her letters and notes, and also through some of her guidelines about Christian education. One of the expected results of this project is a dissertation that demonstrates the systematization of the elements found in the feminine reception of Ignatian spirituality by Candida Maria de Jesus, which justifies and evidences her performance in the educational field. This paper aims to contribute to the academic discussion about the feminine work in the educational field, in a way that approaches spirituality as an original academic contribution in the absence of research, studies or discussions around the theme of the Ignatian spirituality feminine reception and its impact in the educational field.
