Is translation unbreakable? - intertextualidade nas aberturas de Jojo's Bizarre Adventures

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende analisar as letras das três músicas de abertura da animação JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s: Diamond Is Unbreakable adaptadas integralmente pelo grupo brasileiro Mig Music e disponibilizadas em seu canal no YouTube. A análise, realizada a partir de um cotejo dos textos originais em japonês e as versões traduzidas em inglês e português, investigará a referenciação de elementos da série como o enredo, temáticas da série e caracterização das personagens e do gênero que são trabalhadas nas letras, construindo uma intertextualidade compartilhada entre textos fonte e textos-alvo. Serão usados preceitos teóricos de Vermeer (1989 apud LEAL, 2006), Fish (1980, 1985, 1994 apud RODRIGUES, 2000) e Derrida (1972, 1973, 1975, 1982 apud RODRIGUES, 2000) para avaliar o maior grau de autonomia dos tradutores e como fatores extratextuais podem influenciar no processo de significação dos textos-alvo

This paper analyzes the lyrics of the three opening songs of the animation “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s: Diamond Is Unbreakable”, fully adapted by the brazilian group Mig Music and made available on their YouTube channel. The analysis, carried out from a comparison of the original texts in Japanese and the translated versions in english and portuguese, will inquire the referencing of elements of the series such as the plot, the series themes and the characterization of the characters and the genre that are worked on in the lyrics, building a shared intertextuality between source and target texts. Theoretical concepts of Vermeer (1989 apud LEAL, 2006), Fish (1980, 1985, 1994 apud RODRIGUES, 2000) and Derrida (1972, 1973, 1975, 1982 apud RODRIGUES, 2000) will be used to evaluate the greater degree of autonomy of the translators and how extratextual factors can influence the process of meaning of the target texts.
