Vida em comunhão na Igreja Católica: as mudanças na forma de vida cristã das religiosas com o laicato na Família Calvariana

Abstract

Esta pesquisa investiga as mudanças na forma de vida de religiosas que interagem com pessoas leigas na Congregação das Irmãs de Nossa Senhora do Calvário (Família Calvariana), em processo de reorganização, no contexto das mudanças que estão em curso na Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana. As transformações são verificadas tanto na Congregação, em particular, quanto na Igreja geral, e são analisadas as conexões, afinidades e contradições que decorrem da integração da Família Calvariana à Igreja ampla. São chamadas de Família Calvariana as comunidades formadas por religiosas e leigas e leigos da Congregação, compartilhando suas vivências, em comunhão. As Irmãs dessa instituição religiosa (originária da França) atuam no Brasil desde 1906, em missão de educação, saúde, catequese e assistência aos pobres. A pesquisa averigua as práticas discursivas, ritos e símbolos, e verifica o trabalho das Irmãs com leigas e leigos, em Campinas e São Paulo, nos últimos 11 anos. Trata-se de uma investigação bibliográfica e documental que privilegia as fontes primárias. E ocorre conjuntamente com as hipóteses levantadas as quais investigam e analisam as mudanças sistemáticas naquela Congregação, com quebra de paradigma e em consonância com as transformações na Igreja pós-conciliar (Vaticano II). As perguntas seminais que afloram sobre os propósitos da Família Calvariana são: A Família Calvariana deve ser aberta a quem? Para viver o quê? Para qual missão? — um conjunto de perguntas imbricadas. Com isso, foi definido o objetivo geral que consiste em analisar a forma de vida cristã em comunhão daquelas religiosas com leigas e leigos. O trabalho desenvolve-se em três vertentes, em relação estreita com os três objetivos específicos. O primeiro compreende verificar as mudanças estruturais nos propósitos e na estrutura organizacional da Congregação. É analisado o novo modelo de organização administrativa adotado, o “Turquesa”, Teal em inglês, assim chamado porque o seu criador, Frederic Laloux, classifica os diversos modelos da história da administração numa metáfora de cores e define o Teal como o modelo atual. O segundo objetivo específico constitui-se em caracterizar as formas de interação das religiosas com as leigas e leigos e averiguar a harmonização com as reformas da Igreja. O terceiro consiste em identificar fatores motivacionais. Os resultados compõem-se de subsídios a renovações de institutos religiosos integrados por pessoas consagradas e laicas, cristãs ou não cristãs. São contribuições de ordem prática e conceitual, especialmente quanto a: modelo de organização adequado a institutos religiosos; novas formas de vida religiosa integrada à vida de leigas e leigos atuantes na realidade secular; e fatores de motivação para a vivência de carismas numa configuração de família espiritual.

This research investigates the changes in the way of life of religious women who interact with lay people in the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Calvary (Calvarian Family), in the process of reorganization, in the context of the changes that are underway in the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church. The transformations are verified, in the Congregation, in particular, as well as in the general Church and the connections, affinities and contradictions that result from the integration of the Calvarian Family into the broad Church are analyzed. The communities formed by religious and laypersons of the Congregation, sharing their experiences, in communion, are called the Calvarian Family. The Sisters of this religious institution (originally from France) have worked in Brazil since 1906, with a mission of education, health, catechesis and assistance to the poor. The research investigates discursive practices, rites and symbols, and verifies the work of the Sisters with lay people, in Campinas and São Paulo, over the last 11 years. This is a bibliographic and documentary research that privileges primary sources. And it occurs together with the hypotheses raised which investigate and analyze the systematic changes in that Congregation, with a paradigm shift and in line with the transformations in the post conciliar Church (Vatican II). The seminal questions that arise about the purposes of the Calvarian Family are: Who should the Calvarian Family be open to? To live what? For which mission? — a set of intertwined questions. With this in mind, the general objective was defined, which consists of analyzing the form of Christian life in communion between religious women and lay people. The work is developed in three aspects, in close relation with the three specific objectives. The first involves verifying structural changes in the purposes and organizational structure of the Congregation. The new model of administrative organization adopted is analyzed, the “Turquoise”, Teal in English, so called because its creator, Frederic Laloux, classifies the various models in the history of administration in a color metaphor and defines Teal as the current model. The second specific objective is to characterize the forms of interaction between nuns and laypersons and to ascertain harmonization with Church reforms. The third consists of identifying motivational factors. The results consist of subsidies for the renovation of religious institutes integrated by consecrated and secular people, Christian or non-Christian. These are practical and conceptual contributions, especially regarding: organizational model suitable for religious institutes; new forms of religious life integrated with the lives of laypersons active in secular reality; and motivational factors for experiencing charisms in a spiritual family configuration.
