A performatividade de gênero na construção da protagonista do filme A garota dinamarquesa

Abstract

Como se constituem as representações da transexualidade nas narrativas audiovisuais? Ao adentrar no campo teórico da Narratologia e eleger como objeto de estudo o filme A Garota Dinamarquesa (2015), esta pesquisa busca apresentar uma parte de resposta para essa indagação. Com objetivo de compreender a composição de uma personagem de narrativa audiovisual, por meio de seus aspectos estruturais, tendo como base os estudos de gênero e sexualidade, este artigo pauta-se nos estudos da estrutura da narrativa (GANCHO, 2002) e na teoria queer (BUTLER, 2016; LAURETIS, 1987). Os processos investigativos e de análises permitiram entender que a construção da protagonista e seu reconhecimento como trans ocorrem a partir da performatividade do gênero, ou seja, por meio de uma série de atos, gestos, estilizações corporais e outros elementos do discurso, que atribui à personagem características tidas como femininas.

How are the representations of transsexuality constituted in audiovisual narratives? By entering the theoretical field of Narratology and choosing the film The Danish Girl (2015) as the object of study, this research seeks to present a part of an answer to this question. Having as objective to understand the composition of an audiovisual narrative character, through its structural aspects, based on gender and sexuality studies, this work based on structure studies narrative (GANCHO, 2002), and on queer theory (BUTLER, 2016; LAURETIS, 1987). The investigative and analytical processes allowed us to understand that the construction of the protagonist and her recognition as trans occurs from the performativity of the genre, that is, through a series of acts, gestures, body styles and other elements of the discourse, which she attributes to the character characteristics regarded as feminine.
