O mito da caverna de Platão: uma proposta para o processo educacional

Abstract

No centro do presente trabalhado de conclusão de curso, encontra-se o Mito da Caverna de Platão, com a perspectiva de analisá-lo dentro do espírito platônico, ou seja, considerá-lo como figura do itinerário que a alma humana faz em direção ao conhecimento, o de se desprender das realidades visíveis para alcançar o mais sublime e verdadeiro conhecimento, o filosófico. Ao atualizar os principais elementos do Mito, abre-se um horizonte para perceber a relevância dele para a prática educacional, de modo específico, na relação de ensino e aprendizagem. Para alcançar tal propósito, o trabalho perpassa temas da filosófica platônica tais como, a imortalidade da alma, a teoria das formas, o aprendizado enquanto reminiscência, a busca da alma filosófica, as realidades sensíveis e o projeto de formação do rei-filósofo para governar o estado ideal. Com essa abordagem evidencia-se a atualidade e a relevância do Mito da Caverna com as possibilidades que ele oferece, para melhor conceber, planejar e desenvolver o processo educacional.

At the core of this course completion paper is Plato's Allegory of the Cave, with the perspective of analyzing it within the Platonic spirit, that is, considering it as a figure in the itinerary that the human soul makes towards the knowledge, detaching oneself from visible realities to reach the most sublime and true knowledge, which is the philosophical one. By updating the Allegory's main elements, a horizon is opened in order to perceive its relevance for educational practice, specifically in the relationship between teaching and learning. To achieve this purpose, this paper permeates themes of Platonic philosophy, such as the immortality of the soul, the theory of forms, learning as reminiscence, the search for the philosophical soul, sensible realities and the project of training the philosopher-king to rule the ideal state. With this approach, the actuality and relevance of the Allegory of the Cave is highlighted, together with the possibilities it offers to better conceive, plan and develop the educational process.
