A perpetuação da desigualdade e entre os países: um estudo dos efeitos da atuação da organização das nações unidas para a alimentação e a agricultura no sistema internacional, entre 2000 e 2019.

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a atuação da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Alimentação e a Agricultura (FAO) no combate à fome entre 2000 e 2019. Considera-se a teoria de que o discurso da campanha de combate à fome é ineficaz e atua com outro propósito: perpetuar a desigualdade entre países. O prejuízo oriundo do fato de que os detentores de poder da agência serem países distante do problema, também é um tema abordado, assim como, a credibilidade da FAO frente as demais agências da ONU. A conclusão do trabalho gira em torno da comprovação dessas hipóteses, apontando suas respectivas causas e consequências através do método de Estudo de caso – Process Tracing, devido ao caráter teórico do tema.

This work aims to analyze the performance of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in combating hunger between 2000 and 2019. The theory that the discourse of the campaign to combat hunger is ineffective is considered and acts with another purpose: to perpetuate inequality between countries. The damage arising from the fact that the holders of power of the agency are countries far from the problem, is also a topic addressed, as well as the credibility of FAO before the other UN agencies. The conclusion of the work revolves around the proof of these hypotheses, pointing out their respective causes and consequences through the Case Study method – Process Tracing, due to the theoretical character of the theme.
