Ius Gentium: o direito internacional em Francisco de Vitória

Abstract

No presente artigo desejamos apresentar a pessoa de Francisco de Vitória e seu tempo, marcadamente repleto de descobertas e inovações. Estudaremos o século de ouro e como ele favoreceu a expansão qualitativa do conhecimento em Salamanca. Verificaremos a gênese do direito internacional, o anseio por uma humanidade unida configurada perante as novas descobertas e o surgimento dos estados modernos.

In this article we are presenting the person of Francis of Victoria and his time, remarkably full of discoveries and innovations. We will study a century of gold and how it favored the expansion of qualitative knowledge in Salamanca. We will see the genesis of the international law, the yearning for a united humanity, configured before the new discoveries and the emergence of the modern states.
