The performance of a biosensor based on a peroxidase derived from zucchini extract immobilized in a carbon paste electrode is described for the detection of undesired degradation products, thus hydrogen peroxide, in biodiesel sample. This biosensor had good linear response was obtained for the concentration range from 0.68 to 52 μmol L–1, with a limit of detection of 4.2×10–7 mol L–1. The biosensor is easy to construct and was shown to present excellent reproducibility and repeatability. The data obtained with the recovery confirms the reliability of the sensor.
