This project focuses on the training process needs required by professors in their classroom practices. We have investigated the training of teaching professionals who do not have a degree in teaching neither training in education but are active on the technological higher education, questioning the conceptions of teaching which they use in their pedagogical practices. Our central objective was to know what the conceptions of teaching in higher education are, which go beyond the domain of technical content. Therefore, we elaborated the following research question: What are the teaching conceptions that guide the practices of bachelor's professionals in technological higher education? To develop the research, we sought empirical information that was produced using the technique of semi-structured interviews with six bachelor's professors who work in a private higher education institution in the city of Campinas SP, in technological courses in the area of Business Management. The empirical material was analyzed based on critical theories of education and on the historical-cultural theory on human development. As results, we can infer that there is a connection between the theoretical rationales studied by us and the reported practices of the participants. However, such practice is intuitive and motivated by the critical profile of the student who is in the job market. It is strongly suggested that the technologist teacher seeks training in the area of education and research, to add academic knowledge to his teaching practice.
