A dimensão social da Religião Católica segundo o pensamento social do Papa Francisco

Abstract

Desde sua eleição em 2013, Francisco tem se pronunciado sobre questões que envolvem a vida social e o agir moral das pessoas. Suas atitudes e pronunciamentos manifestam um pensamento social que dá continuidade ao pensamento desenvolvido pela Igreja Católica nas últimas décadas e que decorre mais diretamente da Teologia presente no Concílio Vaticano II. Essa Teologia que busca um diálogo mais estreito com as realidades do mundo moderno possibilita que a fé seja integrada diretamente às questões sociais, e a partir dessas realidades pensar sobre a sua relação com o Sagrado. Desde modo, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a dimensão social da Religião Católica e assim sua contribuição para a sociedade no que tange às questões sociais, segundo o pensamento social do Papa Francisco em alguns dos seus escritos. O objeto de pesquisa é o pensamento social do Papa Francisco, porém de modo mais profundo são utilizadas a Exortação Apostólica Evangelii Gaudium e as Encíclicas Fratelli tutti e Laudato Si’. O método usado para atingir esse objetivo é de análise fenomenológico hermenêutica do Pontificado de Francisco e dos seus escritos. Justifica-se esse empreendimento o fato de que é preciso depreender o quanto a religião pode ajudar a sociedade perante seus problemas sociais, e assim perceber a contribuição do pensamento social do Papa Francisco diante dos enfrentamentos necessários na concretização de um mundo mais justo e fraterno. Para tanto, nos dois primeiros capítulos serão analisados os contributos que formaram o pensamento social e a Teologia de Francisco. Através de uma breve investigação, será possível percorrer alguns acontecimentos históricos da Argentina, analisar a filosofia que está na base do pensamento do Papa e olhar para a história recente da Igreja e da sua Teologia. No terceiro capítulo, analisando a questão social para a religião católica e seu desenvolvimento será possível compreender o caráter social da religião a partir de Francisco e, consequentemente, os princípios polares desenvolvidos por ele que estão a serviço da paz social. Dentro da questão social há grande relevância para Francisco o povo fiel de Deus que deriva de um olhar sistemático para o pobre como locus fundamentalis. Assim, no quarto capítulo, buscando compreender a religação dos pobres com a fé, será possível analisar a questão da ecologia integral para Francisco e sua contribuição para os problemas relacionados à ecologia. O caminho proposto por Francisco compreende que o diálogo é o instrumento pelo qual será possível atingir uma “amizade social” verdadeira e por consequência a realização da “fraternidade universal”. Destaca-se alguns pontos fundamentais que ajudam na realização do objetivo geral deste trabalho: a Teologia do Povo e a valorização da Cultura, o pobre como lugar teológico, os princípios polares presentes na Evangelii Gaudium, Ecologia Integral e diálogo fraterno como instrumentos de uma amizade social que possibilitem uma Fraternidade Universal.

Since his election in 2013, Francis has spoken out on issues involving people's social life and moral behavior. His attitudes and pronouncements manifest a social thought that gives continuity to the thought developed by the Catholic Church over the last decades and that derives more directly from the Theology present in the Second Vatican Council. This Theology that seeks a closer dialogue with the realities of the modern world enables faith to be directly integrated into social issues, and from these realities to think about its relationship with the Sacred. This way, the objective of this work is to analyze the social dimension of the Catholic Religion and thus its contribution to society in terms of social issues, according to the social thought of Pope Francis in some of his writings. The object of research is the social thought of Pope Francis, but in a more profound way the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium and the Encyclicals Fratelli tutti and Laudato Si' are used. The method that is used in order to achieve this objective is a phenomenological-hermeneutic analysis of the Pontificate of Francis and his writings. This undertaking is justified by the fact that it is necessary to understand how religion can help society based upon its social problems, and thus perceive the contribution of Pope Francis' social thought in sight of the necessary confrontations in the realization of a fairer and more fraternal world. In order to do so, the first two chapters will analyze the contributions that formed the social thought and the Theology of Francis. Through a brief investigation, it will be possible to go through some historical events in Argentina, analyze the philosophy that underlies the Pope's thought and look at the recent history of the Church and its Theology. In the third chapter, analyzing the social issue for the Catholic religion and its development, it will be possible to understand the social role of the religion based on Francisco and, consequently, the polar principles developed by him that aim the social peace. Within the social question, there is great relevance for Francis to the faithful people of God that derives from a systematic look at the poor people as a locus fundamentalis. Thus, in the fourth chapter, seeking to understand the reconnection of the poor ones with faith, it will be possible to analyze the issue of integral ecology for Francis and his contribution to problems related to ecology. The goals proposed by Francis understand that dialogue is the instrument through which it will be possible to achieve a true “social friendship” and, consequently, the realization of “universal fraternity”. Some fundamental points that help in achieving the general objective of this work stand out: the Theology of the People and the appreciation of Culture, the poor reality as a theological place, the polar principles present in Evangelii Gaudium, Integral Ecology and fraternal dialogue as instruments of friendship that make a Universal Fraternity possible
