This article aims to investigate the contemporary production of limericks in Brazilian children's literature, analyzing their themes, narrative compositions, and stylistic resources. The analytical perspective is based on nonsense literature and its intersection with children's literature, drawing on the works of Tatiana Belinky, Viviane Veiga Távora, and Alexandre de Castro Gomes. The theoretical framework relies on studies by Cunha (2017) and Thomaz (2012) on the fantastic, and by Tigges (1987) and Granato (2015) on literary nonsense, which help to contextualize the genre and its characteristics. The research reveals that Brazilian limericks maintain the rhythmic structure and meter of the original format, using humor and wordplay to address everyday themes in a playful and imaginative way. The conclusion points out that, despite the creative freedom, the selections analyzed preserve a "sunny nonsense," characterized by a light and fun approach, without elements of horror or monstrosity.
