familiar.
Introduction:Stuttering is a fluency disorder that can significantly affect verbal communication, manifesting itself through interruptions in the flow of speech, making it difficult to produce a continuous and fluid expression. Unlike common discontinuities in speech, stuttering involves atypical behaviors that are associated with individuals who suffer from this disorder. It is important to highlight that stuttering is not a single condition, but rather a spectrum that encompasses different types, each with its own distinctive characteristics. From developmental stuttering, which generally manifests itself in childhood and can persist into adulthood, to neurogenic and psychogenic forms, which are associated with dysfunctions in the central nervous system and emotional factors, respectively. By addressing these aspects, this work aims to identify which procedures are recommended in the speech therapy assessment process for stuttering through a literature review. Objective: To carry out a literature review to identify and analyze speech therapy intervention procedures for child, adolescent and adult stuttering. Methods: This study deals with a literature review, of an analytical and descriptive nature, in which scientific articles were selected to identify and analyze procedures in speech therapy intervention in childhood stuttering, both aimed at evaluating communication and therapeutic processes, including therapy family oriented. Results: A total of 10 articles were selected, in compliance with the inclusion criteria. It was found that speech therapy intervention in childhood stuttering highlights varied approaches and relevant data. Studies have revealed that persistent stuttering may have hereditary patterns, requiring ongoing and personalized treatments. It is noteworthy that one of the studies proposes a program that uses techniques adjusted to the severity of stuttering. One program uses an indirect intervention model and another program uses fluent speech modeling.
