Exploramos a
estudo.
This research addresses the themes of mediatization and consumption, in addition to explicating a hypermodern view of meditative practices from the perspective of interdisciplinarity, considering fields such as the history of religions, sociology, communication, discourse analysis, and media. We explore the intersection between religiosity, consumption, and digital social media, with a focus on the discourse surrounding meditation and Buddhist practices, highlighting the role of the virtual universe in the production, circulation, and dissemination of these themes and content. We observe that hypermodern society raises questions about spirituality, faith, and religious experiences in secular contexts, questioning the persistence of religious beliefs and how they adapt to the age of mediatization. The research also discusses the interweaving of religion, media, and society, taking into account secularization and religious pluralism in a context where there is a growing interest in meditation practices, as well as the evolution from mystical aspects to scientifically proven benefits, and their omnipresence on online social networks. We highlight the influence of the media, including the TikTok platform, on the circulation of content related to meditation, influencing how individuals interact with religiosity in the digital ecosystem, with an emphasis on the discourse of "Monja Coen," our study focus.
